  2. Naval Atlantic Meteorology and Oceanography Center - This is an extraordinary site with invaluable information about Ocean conditions including currents and eddies of the gulf Stream.
  3. United States Coast Guard Home Page - Another excellent site crammed with useful information including a section devoted exclusively to Boating Safety The US Coast Guard -- Office of Boating Safety Home Page. See below for more Coast Guard related listings.
  4. Coast Guard Auxilliary Division 5 - Home of the Coast Guard Auxilliary where you can take more boating classes, learn to do vessel checks and other boating skills. Division 5 Floatilla 10 is the home of the Manhattan Auxilliary and has membership information.
  5. Interactive Marine Weather - Ocean buoy reports. Critical for current sea state information for cruisers.
  6. Unisys Weather - another good alternate weather source with excellent satelite maps.
  7. HM Nautical Almanac Office - British royal Observatory Nautical almanac Office - great site for celestial navigators.
  8. Analemma - another good site for celestial navigators. Contains the analemma and an explanation.
  9. NIST Web Clock - for Navigators. Contains downloadable software to set your computer's clock to atomic clock time for precision navigation.

America's Boating Course: One of the best ways to have a fun boating experience is to "know before you go". If you are a new boater or an experienced boater in need of a refresher course, consider taking a boating course.
